West Central Iowa | I am putting autopilot on a JD8400 MFWD and wondering what would be the best way to route the cable from the wheel end to prevent the somewhat common failure of the cable. It looks like one choice would be to follow the steering arm to the rear and then zip tie to the tie rod till it get close to the center of the tractor. This would require slack or a loop at each end of the tie rod.
The other way would be to follow the top of the axle to the center of the tractor. I am not sure how I would fasten it to the top of the axle going this way though.......about the only way would be to run zip ties all the way around the axle.
Does it matter which side it is mounted on?
Thanks!
