NC Kansas
Dicamba does give you more residual and the biggest benefit to me on the xtend is the ability to eliminate the waiting period/plant back restriction. We used to use 24d and (authority/Sonic type product) and wait 5-7 days depending on the weather... but what if it rains 2 inches on day 5... then another inch on day 10... day 18 you are getting them planted and day 25 the beans are finally up but now it's pushing 35-40 days since you put down any residual and the beans aren't close to canopy...

Spray the Dicamba early and often when it's less volatile. When the HT3 (Xtend-flex) hits the market that will give us Dicamba/Liberty tolerant in the same package and will really help things. I'm not trying to run down Enlist and understand the Dicamba issues, but if everyone thinks 2-4d is so much safer and as effective, especially in sensitive crop/fruit-veggie areas they will be disappointed.

Ultimately it's going to come down to (and really it already has come to this) what will kill a pigweed, side effects be damned...
