Beresford, SD
Calves......500# heifers up to a pen of steers pushing 775-8. Feed 6 7400 pound loads a day. Calves are slicking the bunks (except for the frozen chunks off the top of the silage pile.). Average intake for the feedyard this week is right at 35.5 pounds as fed per head, so calves are getting just under 4# of corn, plus the grain in the corn silage. Got one empty pen......loaded 4 loads of old crop heifers last Weds.......2 loads of weaned ranch steer calves coming tomorrow, if the snow stays away. When they get here I'm done buying till May.
