Subject: RE: Hoop Barn or Post frame

Couple thoughts:

One of the most valuable items on my farm is the shop/shed that gets me out of the wind has heat and allows me to work on machinery. I built it over time but started with the end in mind.
I have a 30foot lean too I built on another old barn....its ok....but it's to shallow. One wagon fills up a bay. Works great for "stuff" but not for hay, machinery, etc.
I'd like an area where I could stockpile some dog, feed etc, on concrete.
Bigger is better...a neighbor told me that 25 years ago so I added an extra 10' to my building. My young brain made complete sense of that. After about 5 years I needed 10 more feet and then 20 more feet every 5 years after that. Go Bigger , then go bigger again....Wake up in 10 years and you'll feel really, really smart.
I like the perma columns.
No experience with hoops.......but if I did it would be on a concrete stem wall.
