They are a nice crop mix, so I’d like to plant soy and have my market back. I also have soy processors in the area, so there is a market there. I haven’t been too hard on Trump so far, but I want this resolved. I have, and have employed, some value added ideas that will help across the farm. Most efficient producer tends to be a good bet to weather storms, side things make you more successful during the down times.

What most don’t do or understand is to figure out where you lose most of your money in the chain and do it yourself if you can. Bring in livestock? Bring in feed mills? Bring in dairies? Bring in silage acres? Work with local businesses or citizens on fresh foods? Some things work well with a big farm, other things don’t. But you have to be willing to try IMO.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t looked into the hemp market at all yet. Not sure where the local market would be initially.
