Subject: John Deere vs Ferris

WCNY
Didn't want hijack Post below but it got me to thinking about advice. I am going through this now with our local country cemetery. We have 19 year old GT275 Deere 48" deck now that is tired. I looked at the X300 series and dealer advised the X500 for durability. I agreed. Some on the board wanted me to check out Simplicity, I did and apples to apples they cost more than the Deere which surprised me. Some due to heaver discounts for the Deere. Going out the door the simplicity dealer said why not a Ferris Zero turn it is cheaper. Come to find out they have two 48" cut models that are. 400S and 600Z in our budget. I worry about durability of these small Ferris mowers. We hire a guy to mow and he or i have ever run a zero turn and that is a concern too. And thoughts would be appreciated. TIA
