Geo statistical theory I don’t think is all that new or novel, it’s just been a niche area for a long time and the amount of data available to process just grows by leaps and bounds.
Like so very many things in life, there are few new break-through discoveries, just endless new opportunities to put in the work to apply known science/techniques in industrious fashions and hopefully refine our outcomes.
