Subject: RE: Field IQ module with broken bolt

Southern Minnesota Between Freeborn & Wells
I had a somewhat similar problem with an Ag Leader module. Mine was on our planter and got broke removing a seed box. I was able to tie band it to make contact. Mine used a plastic tab that broke rather than a bolt.

I was afraid the same problem could happen again especially with the rather fragile connection so I mounted the module inside a plastic toolbox of the appropriate size. This protects the connection from getting bumped again. If I would have done that in the first place, the problem would not have occurred. It held up fine through last years planting.

Your broken bolt appears to be rusty. I would be concerned about using a lot of force on it. Your tie band idea might be the safest if you can get the band around the connector to keep it squarely in place.
