Subject: Is it FAIR to Treat China.. the way they are treating us?

Here is my response below to my request that the Trump administration PUSH for the elimination of Trade Restrictions on US Goods INTO China.. as China HAS ENJOYED INTO the US.

Treating them like they are treating us would be a unofficial embargo on certain categories or specific products while saying it was tariffed
.

So you are saying.. in effect.. that China has an unofficial embargo on certain categories or specific products while saying it is a tariff..

So what should be done about it?

.. in your view.

Is it Fair that China can embargo US Soybeans into their Country through Tariffs as we address our grievances with them?

I agree that Trade Wars are not good for economic growth.. However, China has practiced Unfair Trade Practices.. with no consequences..

U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will lead a delegation to Beijing next week to lay the groundwork for a meeting between Trump and Xi later this month.

In his speech, Trump blamed past U.S. administrations and lawmakers “for allowing this travesty to happen” between the world’s two largest economies and said his tariff strategy is working.

We are now making it clear to China that after years of targeting our industries, and stealing our intellectual property, the theft of American jobs and wealth has come to an end,” he said. “Therefore, we recently imposed tariffs on $250 billion dollars of Chinese goods -- and now our Treasury is receiving billions and billions of dollars.”

U.S. and Chinese negotiators last week made progress during two days of talks in Washington, but Lighthizer said the two sides still had a lot of work to do and had not even started putting the framework of a deal on paper.

Trump set a March 1 deadline for the U.S. and China to reach a satisfactory solution before tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods are set to more than double to 25 percent. The trade war has resulted in $360 billion in tariffs imposed on each other’s goods and has caused turmoil for financial markets and businesses to rethink their supply chains.

China should not be doing this to us.. but then again.. we should not be LETTING them do it to begin with...

WASHINGTON   (Reuters  ) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer plan to hold trade talks in Beijing early next week, Dow Jones reported on Tuesday, citing an unidentified senior administration official.

China has agreed to widen trade discussions to include hacking, it said. Reuters was not able to immediately confirm the new round of talks.

The two sides met in Washington last week for high-level talks, with President Donald Trump saying he would meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping to try to seal a comprehensive trade deal.

Trump, speaking at the White House last week during a meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, said he was optimistic that the world’s two largest economies could reach “the biggest deal ever made.

The Chinese trade delegation said in a statement that the talks had made “important progress,” China’s official Xinhua news agency reported.
