Did you have the option for the 4' rafter spacing. My problem with the 8 ft spacing is this, Yes, they are capable of handling the roof load, but there is not enough rafters there to tie to roof to the header. The buildings that I have seen damaged due to high winds have the roofs torn off, not the sidewalls damaged.
When we had our pole building built by a local contractor, we had them do 4' rafter spacing with 4' posts. So every rafter has posts on it. We somewhat regret that we did 8' spacing on the end walls and kind of wish we would've went to 4'. Just something that was overlooked. This is on a 60'x144' with 18' sidewalls.
