Well, Holstein bull calves are worthless right now around here. The supply of replacements is what usually kept the price of heifers high. I sold springers for $2200. I handled 50 cows by myself, and know other farmers that do. It sounds like 40-50 cows an employee is pretty standard. I think you could cut back on that if you have robots. I really believe that dairy is going the way of the hog industry.
