| Setting up a 2016 Hagie with a Viper 4 and Hawkeye. We were initially going to get the new RS1 receiver from Raven as steering in crop ie Y dropping and tall corn fung would significantly relieve operator stress. Upon some deeper looking though I think we can save a lot money by using the RTK 372 receiver we already have and a cell modem for RTK. Hate to give up the steering advances of the RS1 over Smart Trax but im thinking it would save around 10k on the initial investment. Also I think some sort of crop sensing system may work better than auto steer as we are in some rolling country in SW WI. We are all strip till have have no issues hitting strips with RTK but spraying tall corn with auto steer seems like a new challenge. Anyone have any experience or knowledge here? Advice is appreciated | |
