North Central Iowa | Jed, on my 2003 2388, any problems if I take my rock trap off, and jus use same feeder house?
I'm thinking my 1660 without rock trap, actually has the shorter feederhouse. It works fine.....actually great. I hate the rock trap on my 2388. I don't have plugging issues anymore. But it would feed beans in smoother without it and feeder would be way quieter. The hex shaft is rattling inside the rock beater I'm thinking. If I rock the feeder chain back and forth the rock trap is loose on shaft.
Rock traps (throat pluggers) are the reason people hated the 12v reverser and newer machines upgraded to hydraulic reverser ....my opinion
