tomah wi | I have owned (3) 16 unit and (1) 5 unit multi fam building since 2011. We exchanged from farm land to rental buildings. Most people thought we were crazy for getting in to rentals and even crazier to self manage them but looking back it was a great choice, we had our problems and the learning curve was steep. Starting next week we will be hiring our first onsite manager/maintenance person. We have all tenants set up on Tenant Cloud as an online platform for rent payments/ maintenance request and communication. It is a slick app that even calculates late fees automatically. My wife and I will be heading south to travel next winter it is something we always wanted to do. I doubt it would have been an option if we were still farming full time. | |
