I had no #2 corn yield in a county that I had farmed in for 10 years. Planted #2 corn and my option was 60% of T year 1. Got to step up to 80% year 2, plus my first year yield. Year 3 my yields and 100% T for other 2 plugs.
This from two different agents, so, yes, I do understand that crop insurance is a scam that doesn't protect a new producer.
Are ethanol and crop insurance hurting the young farmer?
