I don't think you can blame ethanol and I certainly don't think taking it away would be good.  Crop insurance subsidies means what, about double the premium.  That would sell a lot of more lower percentage enterprise units I bet but may not change the rent environment much.  Subsidies can go away any time if you ask me.  Getting real estate taxes under control would be a good one too.  And school imposed levies.  Might as well cut the CRP payments down to something realistic while we're at it.
