KS and NE in eastern 3rd | If you're borrowing the money on something you're not going to want to use 179. If you're not using 179 then you're just loaning the government money. So you're borrowing money at 5% for the project and loaning the government money interest free. Not sound advice. If you do use the 179 and you don't have the income you are probably not maximizing your tax bracket and you will eventually need to pay the principal back with income that you have no deduction for. I don't know where your income level is but there are 2 big tax jumps, one is 12 to 22 and the other is 24 to 32. It's poor tax planning if you're paying tax in either of those brackets very often. | |
