East Central, Nebraska | yes you will likely need a whole new planter harness. the way to tell for sure is if your plugs appear to be daisy chained it is the wrong harness, also where it plugs into the tractor it will be a 3 prong plug.
the harness you need has its own wires running to each row, the plug to the tractor will be a big round plug with lots of pins.
if you have the wrong harness you will also need seed sensors and if it is an edge vac you will need new tubes and meters and boxes. gets pricey.
I have a 3140 edgevac that I did last year.
there is one way around it and that is if it has duel boot sensors you can just replace the harness on the planter and they will act like dickey john sensors but you still wont get much better monitoring then whats on it now.
