No, all you need to update the nav is the flashloader program the firmware, which can be downloaded if you do some searching and the proper cable which is usually just a serial cable. You can do the same on the CNH nav if you can get the firmware and different cabeling. I haven't had direct access to Trimble for years but I can update them.
