sw ontario
Ray & his family were real no til guys ,remember him speaking at a seminar at NFMS 1993.....IIRC they bgrew corn about as far north as corn could be grown for grain then and they went to no til as the clay soils kept getting tighter & harder and went from a 4020 pulling a 5 furrow plow to a 5 furrow plow needing a 4 WD on the front of it...lot's of common sense like (wet falls usually were they farmed) setting combine wheels to run on top of corn rows to reduce compaction & would get upset if help made any "new tracks"...Michigan also had record corn yield around 1975 on some real sandy irrigated land in the south ,remember guy with a 915 IH harvested it ,think his name was Lynn?
