Many years ago I visited Ray at his farm. It was anything but Illinois ground. Rolling ground that on the same trip through the field could pass through rock, muck, sand, clay, silt and/or anything in between. Ray was great at studying details and figuring out new ways of managing them. A interesting person to visit with. I mainly remember 00 and 000 beans that were above my elbows just loaded with pods.
