Subject: RE: epleys vs dekalb

Frytown, Iowa

the check was right around 230 and pretty consistent at that. everyone elses test plot around here was 260+ but on 80+ csr so I feel stupid with my 30 bu less test plot but its the type of ground our area has so why not?

I used the harvest lows because some grain always gets sold there and its the "cream" of the crop... the "extra" which is what we are figuring the difference on. maybe it should be higher. at 3.75 the bag of dekalb has to be lower than 188 just to break even with the 1910 but really its just one year of data and I can't rely on pricing bags like that. the epleys showed it can hang in there and I will gladly lower my COP and risk on worse than 50 csr ground instead of giving it all to the seed companies

Im not convinced Epleys has a place on every acre of my farm... but it does on some of my ac.
