I have done some in the past. Search some of my cover crop post from last year. I didn't do any covers this fall. I don't have a real good way of planting. I know some just spread seed before harvest or right after but if I am going to plant a cover I want a good uniform stand. I have in the past spread seed before leaf drop but if your harvest gets delayed and that crop is up and growing that can be a problem. What I had last year I planted with our GP twin row planter at a angle to the old row. We had a dry spell last winter and I ran a cultivator with a irrigation buster to have a good middle and to be able to see where I needed to drive planting the bean crop. Running that planter at a angle really made the tops of those beds rough though. I found that our planting this spring.
