PROSPECT, TENNESSEE | Removing the bio mass is removing the nutrients brought up by the cover crop, you are feeding the microbes in the winter, helping with erosion, but not gaining much on the OM. Leave a swath of rye standing to plant in, you can see for yourself. I dare to say you wont see much difference doing it once, but if you could leave the same swath for several years you can see if it would help you or not. | |
