Seems safer than the nonstick pans. I eat out of both. So I guess I'm doomed.

The cast iron is porous, so next time you cook with it you’re eating Dawn. My sister will occasionally scrub her cast iron out with a scrubby pad, hot water, and elbow grease, then cover it in olive oil and put it in the oven for the better part of a day. After that when you use it just put a little butter or oil on for cooking, then rinse it out with hot water.
