Chebanse, IL..... | Emerson Nafziger @ U of IL did spacing studies just a couple years ago. I don't have the results at hand, but it wasn't impressive. These yield improvements with perfectly spaced corn plants weren't there.
In the 50s & early 60s we were hill-dropping 2-3 plants per drop in corn. Then in mid-60s the term "drilling" your corn started popping up. Which meant it singularly placed vs multiple seeds per "hill". |
