Malt barley demand is basically non-existent at this point. If the maltsters can keep their long term growers with contracts that will be a success. No room for new growers.
They can get more malt out of two row. Beer consumption hasn't really gone up it's just that the new craft brews are canibalizing the sales of the traditional brands.
