Coaldale, Alberta, Canada | Are you willing to grow other crops? What can you grow profitably? What we started to do here was take some land out of production every year (1 out of 6 or 7) and grow a full season cover crop mix. Way to many variables to be able to make a plan for somebody else's operation without knowing:
-financial situation
-owned vs rent
-mechanical ability
-willingness to look like an idiot when a crazy idea goes wrong
-local markets
-willing to go to 1/2 circle rotation?
We are looking hard at the livestock thing. Would complicate everything management wise, but from soil point of view, would solve a lot of problems. Are you sure you want to avoid livestock?
