I know RINs can be purchased in lieu of blending. It is meant that RINs be more expensive than the ethanol to encourage greater blending. I don’t know where or how they are traded or what price points encourage or discourage ethanol usage. I don’t even know what RINs stands for without looking it up.
I know the RFS mandated the use of ethanol. I think it had limits on the amount of corn ethanol, but unsure. I don’t know a lot of specifics beyond those things.
Largely just superficial awareness of the both.
