Subject: Environmentally safe nitrogen in furrow

Maryland
I was at a seminar today and the speaker was discussing ENS. He says that it's basically controlled release Urea. A lot of my ground is rocky and I can't strip till. I've looked at coultering in liquid but that's added cost to the planter and will kick up rock. I was wondering if I could run the ENS at a high rate directly in the furrow through dry boxes or maybe even the furidan boxes? The guy said that since 10% usually ruptures in application that I better just do a test strip. I want to get the full benefit of the nitrogen and think that even if it's slow release if it's on the soil surface and it's environmentally dry it's not available and won't make it to the plant. That's why I want to get it in the ground. Do you think it will burn the seed at a higher rate? Any other thoughts? Thanks.
