My issue with ESN is, when does it fully become available to the plant? It depends on a lot of environmental conditions as to how fast it becomes available. The stuff is expensive too! We've tried some in the past putting it 2x2. I think you are better off spending your money to broadcast urea later, treated with agrotain, when you know your crop is at the growth stage where it needs a lot of N.
