I was mowing some millet yesterday and must have picked up a stone and shattered my rear window. Scared the heck out of me and Jess who was asleep on the floor. Lost a good drying day and $566 for new glass so I would prefer not to do that again. I only had about 10ac to go so thought about keeping going but common sense kicked in. Probably would have hit another stone and taken out the front glass as well. I finished the paddock this morning, 108F forecast today so shouldn't take too long to dry. Does anyone have good ideas or pics for a screen. I'm not using the linkage arms so perhaps could mount something there. Do you use Perspex or something like aviary mesh with 1/4 or 1/2 inch squares. In a weird case of irony I shut the mower down and was checking the damage and realised the radio was playing "heart of glass" by blondie, great timing. At least it was a good excuse to give the cab a good clean and vacuum.
