We feed about 10lbs/hd/day for years. It's ticked up in price recently, so we cut back and added urea for protein portion. My thoughts below.

Pros
Helps bind a TMR mix adding moisture to the ration
Cheaper than dry ddg
Reduces corn equivalents in ration

Con
Generally short storage timeframe (about 1 week here in winter, probably less where you are from)
Need to watch sulfur in mix (don't over feed)
Can freeze in extreme cold creating frozen chunks and thus wasted feed (could say that about other feedstuffs too i guess)

I'm sure i'm forgetting some, others will chime in i'm sure
