I think our situation in this area is much worse than it was 30 years ago.
I think today’s AG requires a more educated, financials driven farmer than years ago...so this type of person won’t like making a lot less than his/her perceived value.
+1 -farmed through downturn in '80's ,yes low prices & high interest but didn't take the $$$ it does today to farm.....today,like maybe always, a moderate farm with little or no debt can do fine ,,a highly leveraged farm just cannot have any hiccups |
