You are right.

On the other hand, that other thread about the fella from ND, it appears he couldn’t really live on 50,000 to 13,000 acres either. Needed periodic write downs from his bankers, could leverage them into bailing him out.

Lots of Amish type folk still work with a pretty small farm and make it work.

So, maybe size, big or small, isn’t the simple answer?
