Most definitely a person should be using a probe in every field, for just the reason you gave. The way one of my field lays it would benefit from having 3 areas that are monitored. My final goal is to have 2 zones monitored in every qtr.

That is where EC mapping comes into play. Take that data and find the average of THAT field and monitor THAT average.

But we won't get into that, in this OP post. I think he was just after something HE could use without having a middleman living off of him, with subscription costs. If I took it wrong and he wanted to spend like $7 corn, I would recommend a "nest" network setup, in his fields.
