Is oxytocin still used regularly in the US dairy industry? I toured some dairy farms many years ago now and in one big new barn there was a guy whose job was to push a cart full of oxytocin bottles back and forth through the milking parlour pit giving all the cows injections of it to help with milk letdown. I always suspected that that farm was not the typical farm for other reasons I won’t get into though.

I hope auto correct never messes up anything you post.

I really think the person posting was talking about oxytocin and it is a very good medicine to help bring a cow to her milk if a calf is born early and she does not have enough milk. It also helps cattle to clean after calving, we seldom need it but when we do it is great. Any legal drug used properly is a good tool but abuse can make anything a problem. I cannot believe how many people think they can get ahead with a blame game against manufacturers. They will simply move from the USA if the legal system helps unstable people blame and bust them.
