South Ga
There’s nothing wrong with any of the three. They aren’t 8000 series tractors because they aren’t, they’re just an earlier design. Even though the cab is smaller than a two bedroom apartment, it’s plenty comfortable enough to ride in all day, they had a good AC system and a radio. The hydraulics were plenty for the time and aren’t bad now either. They had an excellent ride due to the long wheelbase and would turn sharp “enough”.
Yes the exhaust pipe comes out of the hood on the 50-55 series just like everything else for the previous 90 years, big deal. They still have excellent parts and service support available and there’s no reason to be scared of one other than it’s old and old stuff has the kinds of problems that old stuff has.
Good luck, I wouldn’t be bothered at all to spend hours in one. Sometimes when you listen to guys on here talking about how “bad” some tractors are, you have to wonder how they get any work done with those panties up their crack and carrying a pocketbook so they only have one hand available. If they have to drive something less than perfect they may get all sweaty and icky and stuff.
