The other parts is the sue happy patient and his/her lawyer. They sue for $5 M for a problem that is negligible. Plus pain and suffering, plus this and plus that. The lawyer takes the case on a 40 contingency . Change this to a schedule: a finger = x an eye= x ECT. No more suits, both kinds, no suits getting rich, chasing ambo's. I think this would cut malpractice insurance in half, or more.
I don't know anybody that has won a malpractice suit, I know plenty that should have won, for every doc there are 2 lawyers, and they can put whatever they want on the medical report, so it is in their favor, who are the jurors going to believe? Clear as mud? And the patient suffers like a damm dog.
