Early detection of most cancer is better than waiting until its at stage 4, because by then the risk is that the cancer has spread and treatment options have low rates of success. So the question becomes how many people should be screened(which has a cost and inconvenience) in order to offset the benefit of catching something like colon cancer early in a smaller number of people in that group. I guess everyone has to make their own decision about it, high deductible insurance can make the decision tougher. | |
