Subject: Flatting corn stalks at planting, good idea or not?

swohio
After reading post below about bean yields behind chopping heads, been wondering for a time now if I flatten corn stalks as I plant if this would help stands, yields in the fall. Also getting into more and more cover crops, so rolling all this down as I plant. I know there is stuff to do this, may cost me a arm or two, but just wondering about something to flatten everything ahead of corn and bean planter would be worth it. I really not sure that on my ground I want to have more residue on the ground going into spring, but it sounds like maybe flatting everything down at planting could work and bring with it a good ROI. I know some in the cover crop world that does this, but would getting the corn stalks down when there is no cover crop help. I have no time to do this after planting. Thanks.
