EC Nebraska | lighter soils, ph 7+, low CEC that have several areas that test very low K in an area with a lot of rainfall and soil percolation?
Treat K like N on those soils. Apply close to crop uptake.
KCl dissolves readily in rainwater, you likely have a lot of moisture moving through your soil profile between fall and V6, and you've got no available soil CEC to hold it. A lot of that fall applied potash is gone. Sure, it's a rock. Just like NaCl can be a rock. But both dissolve pretty well in water. |
