Southeast WI | We haven't been cheap here but having a cheap treadmill from years ago and then added a skiers edge downhill ski machine and then the zero runner a few years ago as golfnut mentioned. It helps to have all 3 to avoid boredom. I put most time on the zero runner - I've never been a runner but this thing is like running on air and I think it might be a better workout than an elliptical. No jarring on the joints like actual running. Try to do 20-25 min every couple days. Even now with office work I'll get sleepy and take 3-4 minute "run" to get the blood flowing.
