Subject: RE: Atrazine?

Coles County, Illinois
I've used 2# of Atrazine in 15 gallon/acre and only had an issue once. I believe that isolated issue came from poor quality control from a supplier's first season formulating atrazine.

I will qualify this statement as I have sparge tube agitation. This bottom laying pipe has a series of ~.25" holes that are orientated such that the solution has a rolling motion imparted to it. Any product falling out of suspension get transported back to the top of the solution.

Another feature one should utilize is a fresh water flush tank. Mine is 80 gallons. I have the necessary valving so that I can flush the booms with clean water, thru spray balls mounted in the tank, chemical inductor or any system on the sprayer. Cleaning out the sprayer at the end of the day only takes about 15 minutes and all the rinse-ate is sprayed out in the field where it belongs. Hint avoid leaving chemicals in tank and never in a boom.
