South WI | Changing up our fertilizer program this year. We variable rate our P&K this past fall which resulted in us not putting down any AMS. Now we are considering scenarios to get the rest of our fertility done including Sulfur and Nitrogen this upcoming season. We have been p, k and ams in the fall, starter with N, S, P and sidedress remaining N. 3 options we came up with are:
1. ats and N in starter
pre emerge spray N
side dress remainder N with ATS
2. starter "same as above "
pre emerge dry urea and ams with buggy
sidedress "same as above"
3. starter "same as above"
post emerge dry urea and ams
sidedress "same as above"
Have all types of ground but good percentage of course soils. Is spoon feeding the S as important as N? CECS average around 7-9 some as low as 3. Also curious as to how much S guys are putting on per bushel of yield goal. Thank you!
