Subject: RE: Feeding before the snow

Lisbon, OH
We actually calve spring (mid March-mid May) and fall (Sept-Oct). I had some cows on the tail end of the spring calvers, and bought some bred cows that ended up being too late to fit the rest of the bunch. Rather than ship them, I decided to hold them over for fall. This was our 2nd year with spring and fall calves. Seems to work well for us. The calves are on the ground before the weather turns too bad. Also helps with bulls, as I have to split my cows up. Not enough room to run them all in one place.
