Cullom, Illinois | When we would go snowmobiling in the U.P., they had a three foot wide snow shovel looking thing that they would pull down with ropes. When it got to the bottom, it would fold flat and slide back to the top as the person on the other side pulled it back. Seemed to work really well but it was just on a tiny house with a steep roof. Not sure how it would work on a big hog building roof.
