| I have stored 13% beans in a small 5,500 bushel and had no problems storing them until April-May. Used regular auger for filling bin. I have a sweep auger to clean it out. Used fan to cool down sub 50 degrees for winter.
In the 15,500 bushel harvestore have used for corn. It works best not to put anything in it above 15% moisture and it is the last storage filled in the fall with a grain vac/blower. Use fan to cool down sub 50 degrees for winter. Also start pulling out Early January. Last week I pulled out 4,000 bushel. Like to have it half full or less by April. Then it will keep until summer if desired. I use a sweep auger to clean it out.
I agree the blue color isn't ideal, but with a little management, it can still be valuable storage. | |
