Ridgway, IL | I really couldn’t say, in our organization cattle and crops are separate. So if I want homeraised feeds I have to buy them at market price.
I feel like 9 months out of the year I can put together rations with purchased feeds cheaper than home raised. We live in an area with a lot of grain processing, plus rail, plus river loaders. Grain brings all its worth.
We get a high quality screening, mostly broken kernels. Blended with corn flour etc. I test the neg at 95% of whole corn. | |
