| In most cases unless it is a sell out they are there for a reason.The open cows market is around $60 on cows with some flesh and thinner cows seem to be around $50. Younger cows will bring more.I saw some sell that were probably bred but were older and they brought # price.When I take a cow to sale barn there is a reason,disposition, , or not enough milk and tell sale barn manager to sell them for slaughter no matter how good they look. On the other side I have seen in season good beef calves that still have wet navel bring $500+. | |
